About the album
2 Cool 4 Skool is BTS's debut release, dropped on June 13, 2013 — the date ARMY now celebrate every year as Festa. It's a single album rather than a full LP, framed deliberately around school life and teenage frustration with grown-up expectations. "No More Dream" was the lead and it's still the song most fans cite when explaining where the group started.
Sound-wise it's the most overtly hip-hop BTS ever sounded — closer in spirit to the rap-trio identity Bang PD originally pitched than to the global pop they'd grow into. The school-uniform aesthetic, the basketball-court choreo, and the rougher production are the whole point: a debut that introduces the seven of them as outsiders rather than an idol group.
Sequences for this album in the gallery tend to be sentimental — ARMYs who started here often build the slower, paced lightshows for "Path" and the introspective skits, while "No More Dream" gets the harder red-and-black treatment.
