About the album

Agust D is Suga's debut solo mixtape, self-released in August 2016 as a free download. The name itself is a reverse-engineered alias — "Agust D" is "DT Suga" backwards, where DT is short for Daegu Town (his hometown). The mixtape introduced an alter-ego that would carry through D-2, D-DAY, and his solo tour.

"The Last" is the most-discussed track on the mixtape — a raw, autobiographical look at depression, social anxiety, and the cost of fame, written in a way idol-released material almost never reaches for. Suga brought it back as one of the centrepiece encore moments of his 2023 D-Day tour, seven years after the original mixtape, which made it one of the most emotionally weighted parts of the show.

The lead, "Agust D", is the loudest, most aggressive track. Sequences in the gallery for it tend to be black and red with hard cuts; "The Last" and "140503 at Dawn" tend to draw the slower, single-colour fades instead.
