About the album
BE was released November 20, 2020, after months of remote-recording during the pandemic. It's the only BTS album where the members are credited as producers across every part of the project — concept, art direction, photography, lyrics, and music. The lead, "Life Goes On", became the first non-English song in Billboard Hot 100 history to debut at number one.
Sonically it's the quietest, most introspective album in their catalogue. "Blue & Grey" (V's contribution to the writing) is one of the more universally-loved deep cuts; "Telepathy" — Suga's bouncy disco-pop track — is the warm contrast that keeps the album from drifting too melancholy.
"Dynamite" was pre-released in August 2020 and slotted onto the album as a bonus track. It's their first all-English single and the song that earned them their first Grammy nomination. Sequences for BE in the gallery tend to lean blue and grey — true to the album's name — with the brighter "Dynamite" used as the colour-burst opener.
