D-2 (Agust D)

2020 · Mixtape · Solo — Suga / Agust D

About the album

D-2 is Suga's second mixtape, released May 22, 2020, four years after the original Agust D. He described it as "a documentation of myself as a 28-year-old" — less retrospective than the first mixtape and more focused on the present.

"Daechwita" is the lead and one of the most ambitious music videos in any BTS member's solo catalogue: Suga plays both a tyrannical Joseon-era king and the rebel trying to overthrow him. The traditional "daechwita" military-procession music sample running underneath the beat is the reason the track became a stage centrepiece on the D-Day tour.

Sequences for this mixtape in the gallery skew gold and red for "Daechwita" specifically — most ARMYs reference the throne-room palette from the MV.
