About the album
Dark & Wild is BTS's first full Korean studio album, released in August 2014. It's the bridge between the school trilogy and HYYH — they're no longer playing students, but they haven't yet stepped into the conceptual storytelling that would define the next era. The lead, "Danger", paired leather-jacket choreo with a stadium-sized chorus, and "War of Hormone" leaned hard into the more chaotic, charismatic side of their performance.
The album is also the first time the rapline really stretches out as writers in their own right — "Hip Hop Phile" and "Cypher Pt.3: Killer" both belong to this era, and they're some of the densest pre-2017 cuts to design lightshows for.
In the gallery, Dark & Wild sequences tend to skew red and black with sharper transitions; they're not the gentlest place to start, but they're some of the most dramatic to watch back.
