About the album
Hope World is j-hope's debut mixtape, released March 2, 2018 as a free download — the first BTS member solo project to chart inside the Billboard 200 top 40. It's bright, summery, deliberately built as a counterweight to the heavier Agust D mixtape from two years earlier.
"Daydream" is the lead and the song most ARMYs associate with Hope World; the music video is one of j-hope's most-viewed solo MVs and its choreography sits at the centre of a lot of the gallery's j-hope-specific sequences. "Airplane" — released a week later — is the gentler companion piece and the conceptual seed that grew into BTS's later "Airplane pt.2".
Because Hope World predates j-hope's solo touring entirely, the live history is sparse until Hope on the Stage in 2025 finally put many of these tracks on stage.
