About the album
Indigo, released December 2, 2022, is RM's debut solo studio album. He described it as "the last archive of my twenties" — heavily collaborative, low-tempo, lyrically dense. The lead is "Wild Flower" featuring rock vocalist youjeen, but the full guest list (Erykah Badu, Anderson .Paak, Tablo, Mahalia, Colde) tells you most of what the record is going for.
It's the BTS solo album that leans most into "musician's musician" territory — fans who came in for the BTS-era hooks sometimes find Indigo slow on first listen, then come back to it months later when the layered Erykah Badu collaboration on "Yun" or the closing "No.2" finally lands.
Sequences in the gallery for Indigo are rare but tend to be deliberately understated: indigo-blue and earthen palettes, slow fades, very few flicker effects.
