Wings

Wings was BTS's second Korean studio album and the moment the group's storytelling tipped from school-life subject matter into something psychologically heavier. Each member got a solo intro track, and the album as a whole pulled from Hermann Hesse's Demian — the lyrics revolve around temptation, growing up, and the cost of wanting something for yourself.

It was also the album that made the group ARMY-bomb-shaped in stadiums. Blood Sweat & Tears as the lead single brought a much more visual, choreographed BTS to a global audience, and the seven solo intros gave each member their first proper individual moment on a release.

Wings is one of the densest albums to design lightshows for: the solo-intro structure means tonal shifts every few minutes, and the lead single's choreography is full of sharp directional changes that tend to pair well with timed colour switches.
